The practice of taking castor oil to flush the guts (usually the lower intestines including the large intestines and the colon) has been done for generations. My mother and my father in law regularly drink small amounts of castor oil on a "prn" or on an as needed basis.

Few people understand the necessity of keeping their intestines clean. They bathe daily to keep their skin and hair clean, they wash their clothes and linens or get them cleaned regularly, they make sure their carpets are clean, they'll get everything external to them cleaned, but they forgot and overlooked to clean their internal organ, specifically their intestines, which is very important to their health.

When we eat food we hope that the bulk or majority of the foods that we swallow goes through our digestive system and comes out from the other end of our alimentary canal. Well, that doesn't always happened. Some of the food that we eat may still sit in our intestines for days or weeks, perhaps up high in our intestines. If the bulk of the foods that we eat does not get expelled regularly from our intestines and instead remained there for days or weeks, after the nutrients have been absorbed during the earlier process of digestion and absorption, what remained there will be toxic waste because of bacterial action, fermentations and other wasteful and toxic chemical reactions.

Remember that the function of our stomach, and the intestines is not only to digest the foods that we eat, but also to absorb what we eat and whatever waste products that still remains in the intestines.

That's why it is so important that we keep our intestines clean so that our body doesn't absorb the waste products that accumulate from foods that we ate that now have turned into toxic waste "hiding" in parts of our intestines for weeks or months.

One way to keep your intestines clean is do what my father in law did, take castor oil. But if you are a diabetic or have other medical conditions and/or are taking certain medications you must consult with your health care provider before deciding to take castor oil. Another simple good way of keeping your intestines clean is by taking psyllium seeds (fiber) or eating plenty of foods that are high in fiber. But don't forget to drink lots of fluids also, preferably clear purified water.

I wish you well.
