Jesus said, “You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit and that your fruit should abide, so that whatever you ask the Father in my name, he may give it to you.” John 15:16
Jesus said that He chooses you so that you should go and bear fruit for Him. But many Christians believe that they choose God, and not the other way around so that they can bear fruits for themselves - high income, beautiful wives, smart children, nice homes, nice cars, and so forth, all for themselves! They do not understand what the Bible says - that they are to bear fruits for God. And their preachers don’t explain the details to them either why God had chosen them because they too are too busy thinking about themselves - when are they going to retire?
Another important verse in the Bible states, “Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men. And whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the world to come. Matthew 12:31-32 (KJV). What is "blasphemy?" against the Holy Ghost? Showing disrespect?
Most, if not all Christians who believe in the Trinity concept - God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit will argue and ask why is “blasphemy” against the Son of man is forgivable, but blasphemy against the Holy Ghost is not when God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Ghost is ONE? If disrespect for Jesus is forgivable, why is disrespect for the Holy Ghost is not? Isn’t this confusing and troubling? Does this verse not appear inconsistent and contradictory with the teachings of the Trinity concept - that God is ONE?
And why is blasphemy against the Holy Ghost only that cannot be forgiven according to Matthew 12? What is blasphemy against the Holy Spirit? Let the reader understand.
Why do you think God took the promise of eternal life away from Adam and Eve? What sin of blasphemy had they committed against the Holy Ghost? Nothing, because no one knows about the Holy Ghost until Jesus said so when He was on earth. What sin of blasphemy against the Holy Spirit did the millions of people do when they were drowned during Noah's time? Also, nothing! They have heard nothing either about the Holy Ghost until Jesus said so in John 14. So, why were they all destroyed? You want to know why? They were destroyed because they were disobedient to God. Or, they were only partially obedient to God. The punishment that Adam and Eve received from God is a "criminal" punishment for a simple "misdemeanor" violation. But in God's eyes, any disobedience to Him is a CRIME, like a first degree murder and punishable with your own life. Why are preachers teaching that after Christ's death you are free to ignore the Ten Commandments - God's moral laws? Are they not afraid of forfeiting their own lives? Jesus said in Matthew 18:6-9, "But whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in me to sin, it would be better for him to have a great millstone fastened around his neck and to be drowned in the depth of the sea. Woe to the world for temptations to sin! For it is necessary that temptations come, but woe to the one by whom the temptation comes! And if your hand or your foot causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it away. It is better for you to enter life crippled or lame than with two hands or two feet to be thrown into the eternal fire. And if your eye causes you to sin, tear it out and throw it away. It is better for you to enter life with one eye than with two eyes to be thrown into the hell of fire." In other words, gouge out that eyeball, or cut off that one arm if it causes you to sin. It is better without an eyeball and without an arm than to rot in hell!
And you say what? Did I hear you say that you are now under "grace"? Whose "grace"?
God works in us through the Holy Spirit. In John 14:15-17 Jesus said, “If you love me, keep my commands. And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever - the Spirit of truth.” What does this imply? It means that if you do not do what God wants you to do, and you do not keep His commandments, you don't love Him. You may be speaking in “tongue,” Hebrew, or Greek, or whatever, but He will not send you the Holy Spirit to help you! And you know whether or not you love Him by what you do, or not do in keeping His commandments - not through empty faith, but through work and obedience! Total obedience and complete work! God is a perfect God! Incomplete work is not work that He will accept; partial obedience is disobedient. Let the reader understand.
If you still don't understand, let me ask you this question. Do you think that God will take us to heaven if we can give Him only partial work and partial obedience? Or do you believe that He will make you perfect even when you are not, or not yet perfect in your total obedience to Him? I don't know the answer because I cannot read God's mind. But I can read and understand history. Adam and Eve lost eternal life because they were disobedient to God. Lucifer and his angels were evicted from heaven because they were disobedient and disrespectful toward God . Millions of people were drowned and died during the big flood except Noah and his family. Why do you think God did not save them? Because they were disobedient to God.
“The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be[a] in you.” Jesus was talking here about the Holy Ghost.
God works in our heart through the Holy Spirit. And I cannot give you a better example of sin against the Holy Spirit than that which was committed by Pharaoh, as described in the Old Testament (Exodus), and in the movie "The Ten Commandments" starring Charles Heston. Pharaoh had committed the unpardonable sin - sin against the Holy Spirit. He had committed blasphemy against the Holy Spirit. He has desecrated and permanently rejected the Holy Spirit. I believe his sin shall not be forgiven, neither in this world, nor in the world to come. Why? Because he had committed sin that had NO CHANCE of repentance! He persistently refused to listen to the Spirit of truth!
Pharaoh had the authority to do the right thing - release the slaves. He can do the right thing. But he refused to do the right thing even after God sent Pharaoh plagues after plagues. He had hardened his heart to the point where repentance is impossible. And when he hardened his heart to the point where he can no longer repent, the Spirit of truth left him for good!
Is your heart solid as a boiled egg and cannot change; or is your heart soft as a raw egg that can transform into life? Let the reader understand.
Jesus (God) gave ALL for you and me! Do you think He will accept partials from us - partial work and partial obedience? Do not kid yourself! Do not let any preacher, or salesmen deceive you, regardless of the language that he/she speaks!!
